Previews and a synopsis for the first episode of the new anime "The Dinner Table Detective" have been released.
The original work for this production is a popular mystery novel by Tokuya Higashigawa that has sold over 5 million copies in a series and has been discussed in various media mixes such as TV dramas, movies, comics, and stages. "The Dinner Table Detective" is set in Kunitachi, Tokyo. The protagonist is Reiko Hosho, a rookie detective at the Kunitachi Police Station and the daughter of the world-renowned "Hosho Group". Alongside Reiko is Kyoichiro Kazamatsuri, the heir to "Kazamatsuri Motors", who faces difficult cases with Reiko. Then there's Kageyama, Reiko's butler and driver, who possesses sharp deductive skills and a sharp tongue. While pointing out Reiko's lack of detective skills with his borderline rude remarks, such as "Are your eyes full of knots, Miss?", Kageyama brilliantly unravels the mysteries of the cases. It's a full-fledged mystery featuring a lady detective and a sharp-tongued butler.
