"Chiikawa" is a popular manga series that illustrator Nagano started posting on X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2020. It won the Grand Prix at the "Japan Character Awards 2022" and again in "Japan Character Awards 2024," announced in July 2024. The small and cute characters combined with the stark world setting have garnered a wide range of popularity from adults to children, amassing over 3.85 million followers to date.

The anime version of "Chiikawa" is currently broadcast within the Fuji TV network's "Mezamashi TV" every Tuesday and Friday around 7:40 AM. From April 2025, new episodes will be paused for about three months to rebroadcast episodes that had a significant impact in the past. Additionally, the first smartphone app for "Chiikawa," called "Chiikawa Pocket," was released on March 27 and has begun service in 43 countries and regions worldwide, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States.
