"Chiikawa" is a popular manga by illustrator Nagano, which began serialization in 2020 on X (formerly Twitter). It won the Grand Prix at the 'Japan Character Awards 2022' and again in the 'Japan Character Awards 2024' announced in July 2024. The contrast between the cute little characters and the harsh world they inhabit has garnered wide popularity among both adults and children, with followers surpassing 3.85 million to date.

The anime version of "Chiikawa" airs on the Fuji TV network's "Mezamashi TV" every Tuesday and Friday around 7:40 AM. Starting in April 2025, new episodes will be paused for about three months to rebroadcast past episodes that received significant attention. Additionally, the first smartphone app for "Chiikawa," titled "Chiikawa Pocket," was released on March 27, and is available in 43 countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States.
