"YAIBA Samurai Legend" is based on a manga by Gosho Aoyama, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) from 1988 to 1993. The story begins with Yaiba Kurogane, a wild boy who trained in the jungle to become a true samurai, having a fateful encounter with Takeshi Onimaru, a skilled kendo practitioner. The series was also turned into a TV anime in the 1990s, and this is the second anime adaptation, 31 years later.

Episode 2: "The Resurrected Fujin Sword"
Synopsis:

In an effort to get Onimaru's attention for a duel, Yaiba tries various tactics. However, Onimaru ignores him completely. The situation escalates when Shonosuke, a vulture who had been chasing Yaiba from the jungle, wreaks havoc on Onimaru's cherished pigeon loft, prompting a fight to break out. Humiliated by Yaiba's reckless swordsmanship, Onimaru, in a fit of frustration, accidentally destroys a lantern at his home. This incident leads to the accidental discovery of a staircase that descends into a basement, where the magical sword, the Fujin Sword, is found.
