On the battlefield, Char's Z'Gok, already dominating the Federation Forces, was even throwing Amuro off balance with its agility. In the brief instant when Char's Z'Gok momentarily turned its back, evading the Gundam's attack, Woody unhesitatingly fired a missile. The shot accurately pierced the main camera of Char's Z'Gok, successfully blinding it.

The enemy, impervious even to Amuro's attacks, was forced into retreat by "a single missile fired from a small hovercraft." This feat carries weight beyond what can be explained by weapon performance alone.

Woody was shot down and killed shortly after by the iron nails of Char's Z'Gok. Yet, without his actions, both the Gundam and the White Base might have been destroyed. This battle had a definite meaning, not in defeating, but in "stopping" the opponent. Woody's shot was undoubtedly fired from his feelings for Matilda and his "resolve" to protect the White Base.

The anime "Mobile Suit Gundam" was a robot anime produced by Sunrise, airing from April 1979 to January 1980, directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino. It pioneered the new genre of "real robot anime" and greatly influenced subsequent robot anime. Although its viewership ratings were low during its original broadcast, its popularity soared with reruns and the release of theatrical versions, sparking a "Gunpla" boom. Numerous sequels and spin-offs in the Gundam series were produced thereafter, maintaining high popularity even today.
