"Chiikawa" is a popular manga that illustrator Nagano began serializing on X (formerly Twitter) since 2020. It won the Grand Prize at the 'Japan Character Award 2022' and again in the 'Japan Character Award 2024' announced in July 2024. The contrast between the tiny cute characters and the harsh world view attracts a wide range of popularity from adults to children, with followers surpassing 3.89 million so far.

The anime version of "Chiikawa" is broadcast within Fuji TV's "Mezamashi TV" every Tuesday and Friday around 7:40 AM. From April 2025, the broadcast of new episodes will be paused for about three months, and episodes with significant reactions will be rebroadcast. Additionally, the first smartphone app for "Chiikawa," "Chiikawa Pocket," was released on March 27 and started services in 43 countries and regions worldwide, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States. The app has surpassed 3 million downloads.
