In Episode 39 of the anime "The Apothecary Diaries," which began airing sequentially from April 18, Maomao (CV: Aoi Yuki) was struggling due to a lack of ingredients needed to help Xiaolan (CV: Misaki Kuno). Then, Jinshi (CV: Takeo Otsuka) directed a smile at Maomao as if to say "rely on me," which amused viewers who commented, "What's with that face lol" and "He's all smiles."

Episode 39, "Ice Dessert," sees Xiaolan accidentally breaking the ice that was to be presented to Consort Loulan. With Xiaolan at risk of punishment, Maomao considers making an alternative ice dessert from the broken ice.
