"Chiikawa" is a popular manga series by illustrator Nagano, which began serialization on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. It won the Grand Prize at the ‘Japan Character Awards 2022’ and again in July 2024. The charming small characters and the stark contrast of the setting’s world have garnered a wide readership, including both adults and children, with followers surpassing 3.9 million to date.

The anime version of "Chiikawa" is aired within Fuji TV’s “Mezamashi TV” every Tuesday and Friday around 7:40 AM. Starting April 2025, it will take a three-month break from airing new episodes, replaying past popular episodes instead. The first "Chiikawa" smartphone app, “Chiikawa Pocket,” was released on March 27, launching services in 43 countries and regions including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United States, with over 3 million downloads achieved.
