'The Apothecary Diaries' "First Men's Special" Broadcast Decided! Featuring Takeo Otsuka, Katsuyuki Konishi, Tatsumaru Tachibana, and a Comment Ranking & Rating Contest

A special program 'The Apothecary Diaries ABEMA Special' will be exclusively broadcast for free on ABEMA on May 16 (Friday) from 11 PM, coinciding with the hiatus week of the TV anime 'The Apothecary Diaries' Season 2.

The anime 'The Apothecary Diaries' is based on the novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. Set in the imperial harem, it follows the story of Maomao, a young apothecary who becomes a 'poison taster,' using her knowledge of poisons and medicines to solve various complex mysteries that arise in the imperial court. Season 2 of the anime has been airing over two consecutive cours since January 2025, and it continues to capture audience interest.

In this special program, dubbed the "first men's special" for 'The Apothecary Diaries,' Takeo Otsuka as Jinshi, Katsuyuki Konishi as Gaoshun, and Tatsumaru Tachibana as Basen will appear. It is also planned for new character cast announcements to be made.

During the program, there will be a recap of the exciting "ABEMA Comment Ranking" scenes as well as a retrospective talk by the cast. Additionally, the male cast will take part in a "Even Without Maomao, You Can Tell! Rating Contest!" in place of the food taster Maomao.

Season 2 of 'The Apothecary Diaries' is being broadcast for free every Friday at midnight on the ABEMA Anime Channel. The latest episodes can be viewed for free for one week after airing, and with ABEMA Premium, all episodes are available anytime.
