The theatrical film "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack" features a multitude of mobile suits. Among these, the "Hobby Hi-Zack" stands out with its colorful Gundam-like design, attracting the attention of collectors with its charming appearance.

The Hobby Hi-Zack is a civilian version of the general-purpose mass-produced mobile suit "Hi-Zack," developed by the Earth Federation Forces and Anaheim Electronics, which was sold off after its military service ended. It was utilized for sports and personal hobby purposes as well.

Char Aznable (voiced by Shuichi Ikeda) visited London to hold a secret meeting with Adenauer Paraya, a high-ranking official of the Federation government and the father of Quess Paraya. The negotiation involved exchanging a truce agreement for the transfer of the asteroid Axis to Neo-Zeon.

Meanwhile, Amuro Ray (voiced by Toru Furuya) was driving through a lush colony with Quess and Hathaway Noah. By chance, they encountered Char, who was riding a horse after finishing his meeting. "Why are you here?" Amuro pursued Char, to which Char replied, "Unlike you, I can't just play the pilot," and made his escape.

When Amuro caught up, a scuffle ensued, and Amuro tried to draw a gun on Char. However, Quess, resonating with Char's words, seized the gun from Amuro and ran off with Char. It was Gyunei Guss (voiced by Koichi Yamadera), piloting the Hobby Hi-Zack, who came to Char's aid in this predicament.
