From 'ChiiKawa,' new icons have been launched for the "LINE" app icon customization feature.
'ChiiKawa' is a popular manga by illustrator Nagano, which started serializing on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. It won the Grand Prix at both the 'Japan Character Award 2022' and the 'Japan Character Award 2024' announced in July 2024. With a stark contrast between its cute small characters and severe world setting, it enjoys widespread popularity among both adults and children, currently boasting over 3.95 million followers.
The LINE app icon feature was rolled out in September 2024, allowing users to customize the "LINE" app icon to suit their preferences or moods.
The category of collaboration icons that allow enjoying designs with various characters has been newly added, and the popular character 'ChiiKawa' by illustrator Nagano is available as the first icon theme.
In addition to the cute app icons featuring ChiiKawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, the second installment will include additional designs of ChiiKawa and Hachiware.
The 'ChiiKawa' app icons can only be accessed by "LYP Premium" members and are planned to be available for a limited period of 90 days post-release. Users can change the app icon any time by selecting [App Icon] in the settings of "LINE."
Future updates to "LYP Premium" will feature sequential additions of collaboration icons with various characters.
