The anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," which began airing in April, showcased in episode 2 a significant 'if' scenario affecting the core of the story: the absence of a certain man that would inevitably catch the attention of any First Gundam fan.

That man is Gene (voiced by Kazuyuki Sogabe), a soldier of Zeon who appeared in episode 1 of "Mobile Suit Gundam." His hasty rush for glory led to a disobedience of orders, resulting in the attack that ultimately gave birth to Amuro Ray, known as the "White Devil of the Federation." Gene is indeed the key figure behind what is often referred to as the "greatest mishap of the Universal Century."

Ignoring Sergeant Denim's (voiced by Kenichi Ogata) warning of "We are here for reconnaissance," Gene recklessly launched an attack on the base, shouting, "Even Major Char rose to prominence through victories in battle!"
