——Thank you for agreeing to this interview following our coverage of "Animejapan 2025"! What was your motivation for wanting to cosplay Little Cocon from "Umamusume Pretty Derby"?
Hazuki Mao (hereinafter Hazuki):It's not for any deep reasons, but recently, I've been stepping into real-world horse racing... (laughs). I wanted to do "Umamusume" as a kind of good luck charm, and I thought "Niconico Chokaigi" was appealing because it gathers characters from a wide range of genres. So, I decided to bring out Little Cocon, which I felt might be fading from everyone's memory.
——In our previous interview, you mentioned you wanted to enjoy cosplay without being bound by trends or genres. Little Cocon, in this case, is a character not yet implemented in the game, which truly showcases your personal commitment. Was it, as you mentioned, a choice driven by your own dedication and love?
Hazuki:Yes, it was admittedly challenging to interpret a character without a specific storyline. But thinking through those difficulties is part of the enjoyment. To express a Cocon-chan I liked from the limited information, I thought hard about creating her look, posing, and expressions.
