——What are some features of this cosplay that you're particularly fond of?

Machida:I love the hat and belt! These are treasures given to me by my overseas friend, Lulu, who crafted them and gifted them to me. The bold representation of the tentacles, the intricate detailing around the sword and ornaments surrounding the belt, and the effort she put in, despite her busy schedule, all contain indescribable qualities.

When she came to deliver them during a trip, I couldn't help but cry when I received the large bag. It was a memorable and happy moment that made me feel how cosplay has enriched my life.

——There are so many characters in "Azur Lane," but do you have any favorites or preferred factions? From this cosplay, we can presume you're a fan of Tempesta...

Machida:Adding "presuming you're a fan of Tempesta" brings me immense joy as a supporter of Royal Fortune. Yet, there are so many fascinating characters that I hold favorites across nearly all factions.

Starting with Deutschland, which got me into the game, as well as her sister Admiral Graf Spee, Le Triomphant, Le Malin, Nagato, Atago, Honolulu, Jinhae, Charybdis, Marco Polo, and Pamiat Merkuria are among my favored cosplays. Apologies for being an enthusiastic commander!

——No apologies needed! You're a role model commander! Is there anything you'd like to discuss about your activities?

Machida:I summarize reports from cosplay events I participate in on note. Even though I attended "Nico Nico Chokaigi" alone, I hope to convey the experience to those wondering, "What’s it like going to an event solo? Is it enjoyable?"

Whether one chooses to attend alone varies, and I believe if it serves as a reference point, that’s valuable. Personally, going solo to events offers opportunities like interviews and making friends overseas, leading to new fun experiences and invaluable connections.
