Movie 'Crayon Shin-chan' to Feature Comedy Duo Viking as 'Indian Roles' - Kotoge Plays 'Ufun Ahan', Nishimura as a Part-time worker Role

It has been announced that the comedy duo Viking (Eiji Kotoge, Mizuki Nishimura) will appear as guest voice actors in the feature-length animated film 'Crayon Shin-chan Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers' set to be released on August 8. The information was revealed during the TV Asahi program "Have Fun Learning! World Video News" broadcast on May 15.

The 32nd installment of the 'Crayon Shin-chan' film series is the first to be set in India, featuring Shin-chan and the Kasukabe Defense Force stirring up trouble with dance. Previously, it was announced that Kento Kaku would appear as the local millionaire Wolf, and now two popular comedians have joined the cast.

Kotoge plays the local guide 'Ufun Ahan' who shows Shin-chan and his friends around during their trip to India. While the character is uniquely comedic, Kotoge commented, "I'm simply happy that our voices will be featured in a 'Crayon Shin-chan' movie," expressing his respect for the work. Meanwhile, Nishimura takes on the role of a part-time worker at a general store where Shin-chan and his friends stop by. Depicting a modern youth uninterested in work and glued to their smartphone, Nishimura shared, "Since having a child, I've wanted to try being a voice actor in a show my kid would enjoy," revealing how much he enjoyed bringing his part-time work experiences into his role.

The program also aired footage of the two recording their lines, with their nervous expressions eliciting smiles from the studio audience. Kotoge's distinct lines as 'Ufun Ahan' were particularly hilarious, drawing big laughs. Voices from the studio, saying "I'll go watch it immediately," have raised expectations for Viking's first appearance in a Shin-chan movie.

Movie 'Crayon Shin-chan Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers' is slated for nationwide release on Friday, August 8, 2025.
