Episode 2 of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" saw significant changes from the theatrical version. The crucial scene of Char Aznable's (CV: Yūki Shin) disappearance was cut, leaving many viewers astonished with its "boldness!"

"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" had released a theatrical version nationwide ahead of the TV broadcast, reconstructing certain episodes. Thus, many fans were watching the early TV series while tracing the story they had already seen in theaters. However, Episode 2 had a bold and profoundly significant change.

In the TV version's Episode 2, the story goes back to Universal Century 0079, depicting the One Year War between the Principality of Zeon forces and the Earth Federation forces. As the Earth Federation forces attempted to drop the space fortress Solomon onto the lunar city of Granada, Char and the Zeon forces engaged in defense operations. During this, Char's psychommu-equipped red Gundam went out of control, resulting in Char going missing.

In the theatrical version, the event known as "Zechnova" was depicted in detail from Char's perspective. However, in the TV version, this was changed to a flashback narrated by Challia Bull (CV: Shinji Kawada), a Zeon lieutenant colonel.
