Soma Saito Joins the Cast of Anime "Kowloon Generic Romance"! New PV Recap of the First Half of the Story Released [With Comments]

It has been announced that Soma Saito will be joining the additional voice cast of the TV anime "Kowloon Generic Romance" as the character Xiaohei (Young). Alongside this announcement, a new promotional video (PV) recapping the first half of the story has been released.

The original work is a manga by Jun Mayuzuki, known for "After the Rain," currently serialized in "Weekly Young Jump." The manga has surpassed a cumulative circulation of 1.4 million copies. Set in the nostalgic cityscape of Kowloon Walled City, the mystery-laden love romance unfolds as Reiko Kujirai (voiced by Haruka Shiraishi) harbors a faint affection for her workplace senior, Hajime Kudo (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita). She discovers a photo that reveals Kudo had a former fiancée who looks exactly like her, intertwining past, present, and future.

Saito's character, "another Xiaohei," is a mysterious figure. Saito commented, "As a reader who loves this work, I'm thrilled to be involved by such a fortunate connection," and added, "I can't reveal much at this stage, but I hope you'll look forward to seeing what expressions he will show." Additionally, the newly released PV depicts Reiko being bewildered by "the self with no past memories," the existence of "Kujirai B who has the same face," and the enormous secret sleeping in Kowloon, making it an introductory PV that allows viewers to relive the charm of the work even from now.
