[Photos/Images] Anime of the Year Award Goes to "Solo Leveling" at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025 1st

Anime streaming platform Crunchyroll has announced the winners of the "Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025." Now in its ninth year, this international anime awards event honors the year's most outstanding anime works, creators, musicians, and cast members through votes from anime fans around the world.

This year, a record-breaking 51 million votes were cast globally. The top voting countries included Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, with Canada and Chile entering the top 10 for the first time.

"Solo Leveling" was selected as "Anime of the Year." The series also won in multiple other categories including "Best New Series," "Best Action," and "Best Ending" among others, earning international acclaim.

The newly established "Global Impact Award" was given to "Attack on Titan." With the release of "Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK" at the end of 2024 bringing the long-running series to a close, the work was recognized for its global influence. At the awards ceremony, Yuichiro Hayashi from MAPPA accepted the award.

The ceremony was held in Japan for the second consecutive year, hosted by Sally Amaki and Jon Kabira. Presenters from Japan included Mayu Matsuoka, Dean Fujioka, Kanata Hongō, Saya Ichikawa, and the comedy duo Choco Planet. Musical performances by Creepy Nuts, LiSA, FLOW, and others were showcased, with the event broadcast live both domestically and internationally.
