Aoi Yūki, Takeo Ōtsuka, and Other Star-Studded Voice Actors Look Back! Special Program “The Apothecary Diaries: ABEMA Pre-Climax Special” to Air on June 20 (Friday)

A special program titled “The Apothecary Diaries: ABEMA Pre-Climax Special” will be broadcast exclusively and for free on ABEMA on June 20, 2025 (Friday) from 10:30 PM.

“The Apothecary Diaries” is an anime adaptation of the novel by Hyuganatsu, set in the rear palace, where Maomao, a young apothecary who becomes a food taster, uses her knowledge of poisons and medicines to unravel various difficult mysteries occurring within the palace. It is a mystery-solving entertainment set in the imperial harem.

It has also been serialized in two monthly magazines: “Big Gangan” (Square Enix) and “Sunday GX” (Shogakukan), and the total series circulation has surpassed 40 million copies. The TV anime aired two consecutive cours starting in October 2023, gaining popularity with Maomao's extraordinary reasoning and the comedic exchanges between Maomao and the enigmatic rear palace administrator, Jinshi. It even achieved the number one spot on X trends. From January 2025, the second season started airing in two consecutive cours and has been gaining even more traction.

Now, in the broadcasting week off for “The Apothecary Diaries,” a special program titled “The Apothecary Diaries: ABEMA Pre-Climax Special” will be aired exclusively and for free on ABEMA from 10:30 PM on June 20 (Friday). This special program will feature Aoi Yūki (Maomao), Takeo Ōtsuka (Jinshi), Asami Seto (Shisui), and Kaori Nazuka (Suirei). Over a span of an hour and a half, look forward to a special talk from these talented voice actors—covering everything from a recap of Season 2 to the highlights of the upcoming climax.
