The TV anime "The Summer Hikaru Died," scheduled to broadcast and stream in the summer of 2025, has been announced to exhibit at Anime Expo 2025, the largest Japanese pop culture event in North America, held in Los Angeles, USA. The event will take place from July 3rd to July 6th, with the exhibition located at the CyberAgent Group booth inside the Los Angeles Convention Center.

"The Summer Hikaru Died" is a coming-of-age horror story that follows an ordinary high school boy, Yoshiki, and his experiences with various strange incidents occurring around him as he lives with Hikaru—a mysterious entity that imitates his childhood friend, Hikaru Indou. The TV anime is set to be distributed exclusively worldwide on Netflix and exclusively for free in Japan on ABEMA, as well as to be broadcast on terrestrial television on Nippon TV in the summer of 2025.

At this year's Anime Expo, there will be a photo booth expressing the series' unique world and an exhibition of production materials. On July 4th, the North American premiere screening of Episode 1 will be held. Additionally, a talk panel featuring the original creator Mokumokuren and Chiaki Kobayashi (voice of Yoshiki Tsujinaka) will take place.
