"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime based on the novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. Set in the imperial harem, it follows the story of Maomao, a girl who becomes an apothecary and poison-taster, using her knowledge of poisons and medicines to solve various difficult cases within the palace. The second season of the TV anime is currently airing in a consecutive two-cour run starting January 2025, continuing to build excitement.
