“From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman” is an anime adaptation of the novel written by Shigeru Sagazaki, with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. The original work has surpassed 8 million copies in the series. The story follows Beryl Gardinant (voiced by Hiroaki Hirata), a humble middle-aged sword instructor who runs a dojo in the countryside. Due to the influence of a former disciple, he is appointed as a special instructor for the Kingdom’s Knight Order and faces various formidable foes.
