"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is the latest entry in the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, ongoing since 1979. The story follows high school girl Amate Yuzuriha (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa) living peacefully in a space colony, whose encounter with the mysterious girl Nyaan pulls her into the underground world of illegal Mobile Suit dueling competitions known as "Clan Battle." The joint production between Studio Khara, known for works like the "Rebuild of Evangelion" series, and Sunrise has created quite a buzz. The theatrical film released this January, prior to the TV series, achieved blockbuster status with box office earnings of approximately 3.4 billion yen.
