Was Supposed to Fully Enjoy the "All-Around Cool Shotaro Morikubo," But the Show Pulled a Series of Pranks!?

On June 1st (Saturday) at 9:00 PM, episode 6 of “Say You To Yo Asobi Saturday” aired on ABEMA’s “Anime LIVE Channel.”

This episode was titled “Let’s See the Cool Shotaro Morikubo” and featured various ways to enjoy Morikubo’s coolness from all angles. Following directions from the staff, Morikubo donned a rider’s jacket and sunglasses to participate in a “Cool Photo Session with Rockstar Shotaro Morikubo,” with Masaya Fukunishi producing a set of stylish photos.

Next up was the “Cool Interview with Rockstar Shotaro Morikubo,” where he answered questions such as “What is rock?” and “What is music?” in a cool and composed manner.

Finally, in a segment called “Cool Live MC by Rockstar Shotaro Morikubo,” Morikubo recreated his usual live MC in the studio, giving Nobuhiko Okamoto and Masaya Fukunishi front-row seats to fully enjoy his coolness. With Okamoto’s shout of “Ready, go!” the live MC began, and both Okamoto and Fukunishi became the audience, waving penlights enthusiastically.

Morikubo said, “Are you having fun?! It’s rare to see glowing sticks (penlights) at my live shows. For that, you get…,” and threw a signed ball to the crowd. Then Fukunishi unexpectedly threw the signed ball back at Morikubo. Morikubo responded with, “Recycling… Well, there’s SDGs and all that,” delivering a clever line in confusion that had the studio bursting with laughter.

This also set off lively comments in the “ABEMA” chat, with people saying things like, “Who throws it back, lol” and “Hey, this is like a comedy skit, lol.” When Morikubo drank the water handed to him by staff, he ended up spraying it out in surprise. Apparently, the water was extremely sour, and when Okamoto and Fukunishi jokingly asked, “Is it tasty?” Morikubo replied, “Delicious, so delicious it’s making my stomach acid rise up,” giving a hilarious comment.
