"I Spent All My Part-Time Wages on It (laughs)" The Story Behind Why I Chose to Cosplay Lunamaria in "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM"

——What was the reason you decided to cosplay Lunamaria Hawke from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM this time?

Mesa: Last year at Niconico Chokaigi, I cosplayed as Shinn Asuka from SEED FREEDOM, so the biggest reason was that I wanted to line up my photos of Shinn and Lunamaria together. Niconico Chokaigi was the first event where I ever participated in cosplay, so it’s a very special event for me. Being able to join this time as a character I really love, I feel this was a wonderful milestone.

——Were there any particular points you wanted to express or parts you especially liked with this cosplay?

Mesa: I tried my makeup over and over, and it’s only recently started to feel stable, so I especially like it. No matter what I do, I can’t change my bone structure with makeup, so I end up having to do heavy edits... But when it comes to posing, I face the camera as if I’ve been possessed by Lunamaria, so that it looks like the character is actually there when looking at the photos.
