——Thank you for the "chu" during the photo shoot! It was so powerful it almost made me faint. Could you share your thoughts on the "chu" pose

Himari:When I watched the anime, I felt as if I had been struck by lightning (laughs). I love Frieren’s playful nature and the reactions of those around her, and I’ve always thought, "I must do this if I cosplay as her!!"

——What aspects did you focus on or pay attention to in this cosplay

Himari: The part I was particularly meticulous about in terms of costume and props was the staff. Initially, I considered using a ready-made one, but the proportions with my height and the subtle color differences bothered me. So, I decided to make one that suited me... I worked hard on buying materials like PVC pipes and crafting it myself!

The staff can be divided into two parts, and I had a hard time turning the joint on a lathe so that it wouldn’t affect the outer shape (laughs). Next time, if I have time, I’d like to modify the head to make it light up.

Besides that, I studied expressions and poses. I watched the original manga and anime repeatedly, practiced in front of a mirror beforehand, and strived to maintain Frieren’s image.

——Do you have any announcements or future cosplay plans you’d like to share?

Himari: I’ve been enjoying my activities, but I haven’t been doing male cosplay lately, so I’d like to try that! Also, I’m considering publishing a photo book using my existing photos. I plan to make announcements mainly on X (formerly Twitter)! There are honestly so many characters and works I’d like to try in the future!
