Kura Sushi and "Chiikawa" Collaborate! Special Chiikawa-Designed Sushi Plates and Bikkura Pon! Exclusive Prizes Available

A limited-time collaboration campaign between the popular franchise "Chiikawa" and Kura Sushi will be held at Kura Sushi locations nationwide starting from Friday, June 27.

"Chiikawa" is a hit manga series created by illustrator Nagano, which began serialization in 2020 and is posted on X (formerly Twitter). It has won the Grand Prix at the "Japan Character Awards 2022" and again at the "Japan Character Awards 2024" announced in July 2024. The endearing and small characters, combined with a surprisingly serious world view, have gained wide popularity among both adults and children, and the number of followers has surpassed 4.02 million as of now.

In this campaign, two collaboration menu items inspired by Chiikawa’s story make their debut: the “Endless Steamed Rice Well” and the “Reward Bag” given for defeating a “Subjugation Target.” Both items use Kura Sushi’s original dashi, carefully prepared every morning at each store from ingredients such as kombu and bonito flakes.

Additionally, during the campaign, the video for Kura Sushi’s table-side game “Bikkura Pon!”—which you can play by putting five empty plates into the collection slot—will be specially themed for this collaboration. Popular characters such as Chiikawa and Hachiware will make appearances, allowing diners to watch exclusive Kura Sushi original animations.
