Currently being streamed in a marathon format, the anime "The Apothecary Diaries" is based on the light novel by Hyuganatsu. It has been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines, with the series surpassing 40 million copies in total circulation. The TV anime has been airing for two consecutive cours since October 2023, featuring Maomao's detective drama as she works as a "poison taster" in the inner palace, along with her comedic exchanges with Jinshi, all of which have garnered significant popularity and buzz. The second season of the anime has been airing since January 2025.
