Currently streaming in its entirety, "The Apothecary Diaries" anime is based on the light novel series of the same name by Natsu Hyuuga. The story has also been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines, with the series boasting over 40 million copies in circulation. The TV anime aired for two consecutive cours beginning October 2023, gaining widespread attention for Maomao’s deduction-based drama as a food taster in the rear palace and for her comical interactions with Jinshi. Season 2 of the anime is airing from January 2025.
