A Chiikawa Pocket Pop-Up Event, Previously Held in Tokyo and Osaka, Arrives in Taiwan! Scheduled to Start on July 1 (Tuesday)

A pop-up event from the popular manga-based smartphone game app “Chiikawa Pocket” will be held in Taiwan starting July 1 (Tuesday).

"Chiikawa" is a popular manga that illustrator Nagano began serializing on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. It won the Grand Prix at both the "Japan Character Award 2022" and the "Japan Character Award 2024" announced in July 2024. With its cute, small characters contrasted against a severe world view, Chiikawa has gained a broad following across ages, and the account has surpassed 4.03 million followers. The Chiikawa smartphone game app was released on March 27, 2025 (Thursday).

The pop-up event held in Tokyo and Osaka will make its way to Taiwan. The “Chiipoke Pop-Up Event in Taiwan” will take place in two cities, Taipei and Kaohsiung. Visitors who show the app screen at the venue will receive an original design "Chiipoke Balloon."
