Cosplaying as Daitaku Helios from "Umamusume" with a Gal-Inspired Pose and Makeup

On May 18, 2025, the “18th Nippombashi Street Festa 2025 Naniwa-ku EXPO” was held in Osaka. We’re featuring photos of RuoN, who participated in cosplay as Daitaku Helios from "Umamusume: Pretty Derby," along with an interview about what she focused on in her cosplay and other characters she would like to try in the future.

—What made you decide to cosplay as Daitaku Helios from "Umamusume: Pretty Derby" this time?

Ruon (hereafter, honorifics omitted): When I first got into "Umamusume," a friend recommended the character to me and that’s how I became interested!

—What aspects did you want to express with your cosplay this time?

Ruon: Since Daitaku Helios is a gal-style Umamusume, I focused on making my poses and makeup have a gal vibe.

—There are many unique characters in "Umamusume." Could you share what you find most appealing about the series?

Ruon: Of course, the Umamusume girls are super cute, but I think their real charm lies in how cool they are! Every character has a strong desire to win, and I’m really drawn to the relationships—they’re friends, but rivals at the same time.

Also, I love the little differences in how each character is portrayed, which reflect their historical backgrounds. It’s fun to notice the variations not just in the anime and the game, but also in the character banter on the YouTube channel "PakaTube!" I’m happy that there are so many ways to enjoy Umamusume.
