What? You Thought It Was the “White Base”? “GQuuuuuuX” Features a Lookalike, But What Exactly Is This “Pegasus”?

In episode 2 of the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," many fans were surely startled by the line spoken by Char Aznable (voiced by Yūki Shin): “Let’s take the Trojan Horse, too.”

Episode 2, titled “The White Gundam,” serves as a kind of prologue to the story. Uniquely composed almost entirely of battle scenes reminiscent of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam," the episode shines with homages throughout, from camera angles and direction to lines of dialogue.

Hearing Char's line at the beginning, some might have wondered if not just the Gundam, but even the White Base would be stolen—invoking thoughts of a “historical rewrite.” However, in reality, this “Trojan Horse” was not the White Base. What appeared in "GQuuuuuuX" was a ship very similar to the White Base—a vessel called “Pegasus.”
