[Photos/Images] Grin... Mother’s Dead! In "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam," the Ominous Signs Before Breaking Down—The Terrifying Disappearance of Camille’s Emotions 1st

In episode 2 of the anime "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam," there is a scene that brings out the protagonist Camille Vidan’s (voiced by Nobuo Tobita) personality in an extremely intense way. This moment, in many ways, marks the “origin” of the actions that would later earn him the nickname “mad dog.”

In episode 2, “Departure,” as soon as Camille seizes the Gundam Mk-II, he mercilessly opens fire with the Vulcan cannons at the Titans military police (MP) officer who had beaten him in episode 1. While firing live ammunition repeatedly at an unarmored opponent, Camille cackles with a maniacal, “Serves you right!”—a completely unhinged act of rage.

Fortunately, the MP who was shot did not lose his life, but under different circumstances, this would have been a totally unacceptable and extremely dangerous action. It was truly the kind of behavior where the machine’s performance and Camille’s adrenaline seem to rise in equal measure.

Amate Yuzuriha, aka Machu (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa), the protagonist of the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," has also been called a “mad dog” on social media, but even Machu pales in comparison to the sheer wildness that Camille displayed in this moment.
