As everyone’s schemes and secrets swirl together, Lupin and the Count finally settle their score. After the fight, Clarisse appeals, “Please take me with you! I may not know how to be a thief yet, but I promise I’ll learn.” Though conflicted, Lupin gently refuses, smiling as he says, “Your life is just beginning. You mustn’t let yourself get stained like me.”

After Lupin departs, Inspector Zenigata (voiced by Gorō Naya) rushes in, exclaiming, “Damn, I was just a step too late! Lupin pulled off another heist.” Clarisse responds, “No, he didn’t steal anything. He fought for me.” To this, Zenigata replies, “No, He stole something quite precious… your heart.” Upon hearing these words, Clarisse nods happily with a bright “Yes!”

..Even now, 45 years after the film’s theatrical release, this sophisticated and stylish final scene has lost none of its charm.
