The synopsis and preview images for the special episode “Kaiju No. 8: Hoshina’s Day Off” from the anime Kaiju No. 8 have been released.

Kaiju No. 8 is a manga by Naoya Matsumoto, currently serialized on Shueisha’s manga app “Shonen Jump+.” It has won numerous manga awards, and with 15 volumes released so far, the cumulative circulation in Japan has surpassed 18 million copies (including digital editions). The first season of the anime aired from April 2024, with the second season scheduled to air from July 19, 2025 (Saturday).

The special episode “Kaiju No. 8: Hoshina’s Day Off” was screened alongside the Season 1 compilation and will be broadcast on July 5 (Saturday) at 23:00 on the TV Tokyo network and other affiliates. In addition, it will be streamed worldwide in real time on X.
