The opening and ending sequences for the TV anime DANDADAN have been released.
DANDADAN is based on the manga of the same name by Yukinobu Tatsu, currently serialized on Shonen Jump+. The story follows Momo Ayase, a high school girl born into a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Ken "Okarun" Takakura, an occult enthusiast, as they confront approaching supernatural phenomena in this occult battle and coming-of-age tale. The first season of the TV anime aired in 2024, and the second season began broadcasting in July 2025.
The opening sequence is presented from Okarun's point of view, depicting his search for Momo and the moment he finds her. The sequence starts with Ken "Okarun" Takakura seeing Momo in vibrant colors through his glasses, while everything else around her is portrayed in monochrome darkness. During the chorus, which seems to deliver rhythmic "dan da dan" sounds, quick cuts rapidly switch between character scenes, creating sequences that make viewers want to pause and take a closer look. In the latter half, when Okarun finds Momo, colors fill the entire screen, painting it with green and red hues symbolizing the two of them. Momo, Okarun, and the clever use of "color" are the highlights of this opening sequence.
The ending sequence is a pop and cute production featuring Momo, Okarun, Aira Shiratori,Jiji, and others dancing exuberantly to an almost “out-of-their-minds” degree. The visuals provide a panoramic perspective as if overlooking a school culture festival, giving viewers a sense of immersion as though they are participating in the festivities themselves. In the latter half, there is a segment that shows the characters dancing in a selfie style, and another notable highlight is the appearance of a figure who seems to be a new character.
