Jinshi Breathes Heavily as He Moves in for a Kiss...! Even the Composed Maomao Is at Her Limit in the Exchange; "I Can't Stop Smiling" at the Finale of The Apothecary Diaries Season 2

Episode 48 of the anime "The Apothecary Diaries" began airing sequentially from July 4. Jinshi (voiced by Takeo Ōtsuka) approached Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yūki), breathing heavily with excitement, stirring up viewers with reactions such as "Kyaa!" and "What is he planning!?"

In episode 48, "Beginning," the final episode of the second season, the suppression of the Shi clan has concluded, and Jinshi, now bearing a scar on his face, asks Maomao, "Am I a man whose worth is diminished by a single scar? Am I just a facade of looks?" Maomao responds, "In fact, perhaps a few more scars would suit you," observing that while people often only pay attention to Jinshi’s beautiful appearance, his true nature is far more sincere and not as extravagant as his looks, making him worth much more than just beauty.

When Maomao adds, "You’ve become even more handsome than before," Jinshi is momentarily stunned and then quickly takes on an expression as if he’s holding something back. Maomao, noticing, asks, "Is something wrong?" But Jinshi grabs her shoulder and says, "I thought I could handle this calmly... But, surprisingly—or perhaps just as I feared—I can't." Maomao recalls the "frog incident," when Jinshi once pinned her down, and begins to panic, suggesting, "Perhaps Jinshi-sama, you should rest for now?" However, Jinshi insists, "I’m still fine," and, breathing heavily, draws his face close to Maomao’s with an intent look, trying to kiss her.
