In the latest episode 14 of the anime DANDADAN Season 2, which began airing sequentially from July 10, “Jiji,” or Jin Enjōji (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa), has his body taken over by a supernatural entity. The scene depicting Jiji, a character who is usually handsome, playing what appears to be soccer dressed in nothing but a single pair of briefs is drawn with incredible intensity, causing a buzz online with comments like, “The animation is so lively, it’s amazing,” and “Hyper-dimensional soccer has begun.”

In episode 14, “Evil Eye,” during the fight with the unidentified creature Mongolian Death Worm, Jiji becomes possessed by Evil Eye (voiced by Mutsumi Tamura). With his body taken over by Evil Eye, Jiji transforms into a form with only briefs remaining, exclaiming, “I've finally acquired this body. All humans must be wiped out.” He scoops up a mass of what appears to be resentment, kicks it like a soccer ball, and attacks the Mongolian Death Worm. He then repeatedly kicks back the rebounding spheres, delivering “shots” to the Mongolian Death Worm from all directions.

Despite the abundance of comedic elements, the dynamic action sequence took the internet by storm, with fans exclaiming, “The animation for Jiji’s Evil Eye soccer is so lively and amazing,” “Hyper-dimensional soccer has started,” and “The action is incredible—I can’t take my eyes off it.”
