For those who watched the first Gundam in real-time or have repeatedly encountered it through reruns and streaming, "teteteen, teteteten!" is a memory etched into their bodies. The cleverness of this production lies in the fact that it evokes emotions across eras, not through visuals but by using sound as a trigger.

Even though the screen is adorned with the latest production, the ear brings out "emotions from 46 years ago." This sensation can indeed be called the "inheritance of memory" brought about by the brand that Gundam has built over the years.

For the younger generation, it might be a fleeting moment they don't even notice. However, for adults who once had their hearts set ablaze by it, just one sound takes them back to their youth—a magical moment that certainly existed in that scene of the second episode.

"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is the latest work in the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series that has continued since 1979. It tells the story of Amate Yuzuriha (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa), a high school girl living peacefully in a space colony, who becomes entangled in illegal mobile suit duel battles known as "Clan Battles" after meeting a girl named Nyaan (voiced by Yui Ishikawa). The joint production by Studio Khara, known for works like the "Rebuild of Evangelion" series, and Sunrise has become a hot topic. The theatrical preview, released this January ahead of the TV series, was a big hit, grossing approximately 3.4 billion yen. It is also being re-screened at 368 theaters nationwide from June 20.
