It's hard to believe that the usually dry Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yuki) would reveal such strong hatred... In episode 18 of the anime "The Apothecary Diaries," a fleeting expression she showed left not only Jinshi (voiced by Takeo Otsuka) but also the viewers in shock.

Typically, Maomao remains cool and detached except in areas she's interested in, like poisons and medicines. However, her demeanor drastically changes when it comes to Lakan (voiced by Takuya Kirimoto), her biological father and a figure of enmity.

In episode 18, Jinshi informs Maomao, "There's an official who wants to meet you." But when it's revealed that this official is Lakan, Maomao's expression turns frightening for a moment. Her piercing gaze leaves Jinshi barely able to muster, "I'll find a way to decline," revealing his inability to hide his discomfort as he admits, "I've never seen that face before. I never want to see it again."
