Second Key Visual and Trailer Released! "Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising" Set for Release in February 2026

The release date for "Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising" has been set for February 2026, with the second key visual and trailer now unveiled. Additionally, it has been announced that "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings/Part 2: Eternal TV Edition" will air on the MBS/TBS network’s Sunday 5PM slot starting in October 2025.

First aired as a TV series in 2011, "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" became a cultural phenomenon. Directed by Akiyuki Shimbo, written by Gen Urobuchi, with original character designs by Ume Aoki, the series presented the everyday lives of charming young girls, an unpredictable and thrilling storyline, and the unique world where girls and magical girls coexist. Shaft's distinct animation techniques, Gekidan Inu Curry’s avant-garde alternate dimension design, and Yuki Kajiura’s dramatic background music combined to create a work critically acclaimed across numerous fields.

In 2012, the TV series was re-edited into two theatrical movies, "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings" and "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 2: Eternal." These were followed by the release of "Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion" [New Chapter] in 2013, which became the first late-night anime film to surpass 2 billion yen at the box office.
