It's Pretty Bad If That Looks Like an “Air Conditioner”… Public Officials Overlook the Clearly Suspiciously Sized Cargo in “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”

In episode 6 of the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," even as a serious storyline unfolds with a plot to assassinate Kycillia progressing behind the scenes, it was the "customs officer guy" who unexpectedly stole the spotlight among viewers.

The reason was the scene where the Psycho Gundam is brought into the colony. The massive cargo, which the Earth Federation forces insist is an “air conditioner,” is so obviously “Gundam-like” in both shape and color. Despite this, the bespectacled customs official lets it pass without question. To make matters worse, the cargo's purple armor was plainly “jutting out” to a degree that was impossible to overlook. Letting it through with a “looks fine!” was simply not believable.

As soon as this scene aired, social media lit up with comments along the lines of, “That's bureaucratic work taken to the extreme,” “You can clearly see it's Psycho Gundam,” and, “Is this guy blind?” Some even joked, “Maybe this guy just happens to have an air conditioner at home that looks exactly like Psycho Gundam” or went as far as to say, “Maybe he’s actually the mastermind behind everything.”
