The second collaboration sake between "Fist of the North Star" and MITSUTAKE Brewery will feature Yuria and will be released as a limited edition starting Wednesday, July 23.
"Fist of the North Star" is a hard-boiled action manga written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 1983 to 1988. Set in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by violence, it depicts the journey of Kenshiro, the successor of the Hokuto Shinken martial art, as he bears love and sorrow and grows into a savior. The TV anime aired from 1984 to 1988, with a total of 152 episodes. There have also been movie adaptations and OVA series, and the countless memorable quotes and spectacular action scenes have continued to attract a loyal fanbase.
The products being released this time are the two varieties: "Ai Yam Kijoshu Let Me Return to Heaven As Well" and "White Koji Junmai Daiginjo Let Me Return to Heaven As Well."
"Ai Yam Kijoshu Let Me Return to Heaven As Well" uses 100% Aiyama rice, which is also known as the "diamond of sake rice" due to its rarity and high price. The rice is polished down to 50%, equivalent to Junmai Daiginjo class, and part of the brewing water is replaced with sake itself, resulting in a uniquely thick and sweet Japanese sake.
Because it is brewed using sake, it has an extremely rich and deep sweetness and flavor. Thanks to its original brewing method, it is a unique Kijoshu with a delicate effervescent sensation, despite being a Kijoshu.
"White Koji Junmai Daiginjo Let Me Return to Heaven As Well" is a Junmai Daiginjo Genshu brewed with white koji, made from Sagan-grown Yamadanishiki rice. It features the fruity aroma reminiscent of pineapple derived from Saga Prefecture's original new yeast "StyP," balanced with the refreshing acidity brought by the white koji. In addition, the label features a powerful illustration by "Fist of the North Star" manga artist Tetsuo Hara.
