[Synopsis]
On the first day of enrollment at Rashomon Academy, Shiki and the other new students must play tag with Mudano. The rule is that anyone who loses is immediately expelled, but Shiki, provoked by Jin Kōgasaki—who was selected in the same first group as him—immediately starts fighting. Struggling against Jin's ogre power, "Blood Release," Shiki tries to use his own ogre abilities as well, but it doesn’t go well. Pushed to his limits and feeling bitter, Shiki is about to lose when Jin, confident of his victory, moves in to finish him off. Suddenly, Homare Byobugaura, who is in the same group, jumps between them. Witnessing Shiki, who was injured protecting her, Homare is shocked and accidentally unleashes the uncontrollable "Blood Giant." The Blood Giant is powerful, and both Shiki and Jin are forced on the defensive.
