Currently being streamed all at once, the anime “The Apothecary Diaries” is based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It has been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines, with the series boasting over 40 million copies in circulation. The TV anime aired two consecutive cours starting in October 2023, gaining great popularity for Maomao’s mysteries as a poison tester in the rear palace and her comical exchanges with Jinshi. The show became a huge talking point. The second season of the anime has aired since January 2025.
