Currently, the anime "The Apothecary Diaries" is being streamed, based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. The series has been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines and has surpassed 40 million copies in total circulation. The TV anime aired consecutively for two seasons starting in October 2023. It became a major topic of discussion, featuring Maomao's detective story as a "poison tester" in the imperial court and the comedic interactions between Maomao and Jinshi. The second season of the anime aired in January 2025.
