Looks Just Like the White Base, But It’s Something Else! Reactions of “Respect” and “I Got Fooled” to the Existence of the “Pegasus” in “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”

In episode 2 of the anime “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”, many viewers were startled by the line spoken by Char Aznable (voiced by Yūki Shin): “We will also seize the Trojan Horse.” Given the history of the White Base being called the “Trojan Horse” in past series, some viewers surely associated this with the idea of the White Base possibly being stolen by Zeon.

With the ship’s exterior looking exactly like the White Base and the use of the name “Trojan Horse”, many viewers momentarily mistook it for the actual White Base.

However, right after Char captures the Gundam, there is a scene where Zeon soldiers say, “Just have the helm of this Pegasus’ sub-bridge trace the route of the Musai,” revealing that the ship is not the White Base but a different ship called the “Pegasus.” The clever misdirection and intricate setting prompted reactions such as “I got fooled!” and “The detailed setting is amazing.”
