Viewers were thrilled by how Nagumo kept his nonchalant attitude even in the heat of battle, saying things like “Strong Nagumo is the best. I love watching him fight like he’s dancing,” “Nagumo’s overwhelmingly powerful battle scene was so cool!” and “Nagumo’s iconic scene—honestly, I’m overwhelmed seeing it in the anime!”

“Sakamoto Days” is based on the popular manga by Yuto Suzuki, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha). The manga has surpassed 12 million copies in circulation worldwide. The story is a “neo-action story of daily life meets the extraordinary,” following Tarō Sakamoto (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita), the former strongest assassin who has retired to run a quiet corner store in a peaceful town. To protect his beloved family’s peaceful daily life, he takes on wave after wave of assassins. The highly anticipated second cour of the anime is set to begin broadcasting in July 2025.
