Online, the sequence sparked excitement, with comments like “Machu being princess-carried by Challia...”, “I never thought he’d transform and catch her like that,” “It might as well be a mobile suit made solely for princess carries,” and “Was Kikeroga’s stick-figure mode created just for princess carrying?” Social media buzzed with the “carry festival,” making fans nearly forget the tense atmosphere.

Some also delved deeper into analysis, suggesting, “It’s because Kikeroga reconfigures the old Brāu-Blū that this composition works,” and “The story of ‘someone catching GQuuuuuuX’ is deeply symbolic.”

Kikeroga had instantly eliminated the Federation Army’s terrorist unit targeting Kycillia and made such an overwhelming impression that it felt like “victory, just by appearing.” But even stronger than its sense of invincibility was the lasting image of “the handsome mobile suit that princess-carried the GQuuuuuuX.” Episode 7 was packed with emotion, battle, and that touch of “gentleness.”

“Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” is the latest entry in the “Mobile Suit Gundam” series, which has been continuing since 1979. The story follows high school girl Amate Yuzuriha (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa), who lives peacefully in a space colony, and who, after meeting the girl Nyaan (voiced by Yui Ishikawa), becomes involved in the illegal mobile suit dueling competition known as “Clan Battle.”

The show has gained attention with its co-production by Studio Khara, renowned for the “Rebuild of Evangelion” series, and Sunrise. The theatrical pre-release shown in January this year was a massive hit, grossing around 3.4 billion yen. From June 20, it has been re-screened in 368 theaters nationwide.
