Popular Singer Soraru Appears as the First Wednesday Guest! Daisuke Namikawa Looks Exasperated at Taku Yashiro During "Useless or Not?" Challenge!

On ABEMA, episode #12 of "Say You To Yo Asobi Wednesday" was broadcast at 10 p.m. on July 23, 2025 (Wednesday). In this broadcast, the popular singer-songwriter Soraru, whose cumulative video views on social media exceed 500 million, appeared as the season's first Wednesday guest. Both Taku Yashiro and Daisuke Namikawa, who were meeting Soraru for the first time, kicked off the show by expressing their emotions honestly.

■Soraru Opens Up About the Origin of His Name

In the first segment, "Getting to Know Soraru: Questionnaire!", the conversation proceeded while looking through Soraru’s official profile. Since Soraru is from Miyagi Prefecture, Yashiro, who is from Iwate Prefecture in the Tohoku region, was pleased to find this similarity. Regarding the origin of his name, Soraru shared an episode he rarely talks about: "Back when I was on mixi, I used the name 'Sorataro,' but when I started posting videos to Nico Nico Douga, I thought 'Sorataro is maybe a bit too much,' so I changed it to Soraru.”

In the talk using the pre-show questionnaire, when asked "What is your favorite anime?", Soraru answered "Eureka Seven," to which Yashiro responded, "I love that too!" showing his agreement. When asked, “What lucky thing happened to you recently?” Soraru replied, “I won a Nintendo Switch 2,” and commented, “Now I can live my life believing that I’m one of the chosen ones.” Yashiro responded by saying, "Sorry, I’m still not on the chosen side," and Soraru replied coolly, “I hope you make it to our side,” which drew laughter in the studio.

The worry Soraru consulted Namikawa and Yashiro about was that he struggles with enunciation when recording lines or announcing titles. Namikawa was surprised and said, "Seriously?", and when asked for advice, he simply replied, “It’s all about spirit, isn’t it?” Yashiro joked, “Sorry, maybe it’s better if you ask on another weekday!” but Soraru appeared convinced by Namikawa’s theory, commenting, “I think I’ll live my life believing I’m good at the 'na ni nu ne no' sounds that I’m actually bad at,” thus finding a way to cope with his concern.
